The goal of Ground Environment is to achieve the most realistic ground textures for Flight Simulator with the greatest coverage. We are releasing this software as an all-in-one package, covering almost the entire gobal Flight Simulator 2004 scenery world with new ground textures.

Product Features

Peter Wilding has already developed FS Water, and more recently Flight Environment 2004. The third creation is Ground Environment, a revolutionary package that completely transforms your FS world environment. The package includes:

Super Detailed Photo-Realistic Generic Textures - The terrain in Flight Simulator comes alive with all new texture sets for everything from deep river canyons, high mountain peaks, and everything in between.

Global Coverage / All Regions - The program includes terrain enhancements for all areas of the globe. We don't focus on one area in FS, we cover it all!

All Seasons - Texture enhancements to all seasonal textures to make your Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter seasons more enjoyable.

Perfectly Aligned Autogen - Our package incorporates autogen alignment techniques that surpass any other product. No longer will you have buildings or other autogen objects show up on roads or have misplacement in other areas of your scenery.

Night Textures - Newly enhanced night textures improve lighting during night time operations.

Easy To Use Graphical Interface - Following in the footsteps of Flight Environment's intuitative interface, Ground Environment includes an easy-to-navigate interface with all the needed options available to the user.

Note: The screenshots previewed on this site show the new Ground Environment textures. They were taken along side other non-texture add-ons that were installed, including enhanced terrain mesh, as well as Ultimate Terrain (enhancing the landclass as well as other visual features). Flight Environment was used for the sky and clouds.

So, the important thing to note is that Ground Environment works seamlessly with many add-ons you have. So not only is Flight Simulator enhanced, but also many of your other Flight Simulator add-on products.

FS Compatibility / System Requirements

This product is only compatible with FS2004, so of course, FS2004 is required. For your computer, we recommend you have a 1.6 GHz machine, with a 128 Mb memory video card. System memory should be a minimum of 512, and you should have about 500 MB hard disk space available.

Windows XP is the official operating system that is supported for use with the Ground Environment. It will not work on Windows 98/Me.
